Cetrotide® contains cetrorelix acetate, which blocks the effect of a natural hormone called gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH). GnRH controls the release of another hormone called Luteinizing hormone (LH). LH enhances the growth of eggs and controls the release of mature eggs into the fallopian tube (ovulation). Using Cetrotide allows for precise timing of ovulation.
